Absence/Presence

2019

In Phenomenology of Perception Merleau-Ponty describes the world as “a sum of things or of processes tied together through causal relations”. In this work I explore what it means to be in relation not to space or a constructed environment but to other bodies. How does the body change in its experience of solitude and in the absence of other bodies? In this work my body probes the felt experience of desolation, alienation and loneliness through movement.
